This is a snip from my igoogle page that includes my education work for W200. It includes some useful thigns that i can use during teaching. They include some basic bookmarks for w200 and for overall teaching. They include youtube.com, teachertube.com, a wikipedia search, a google search, some education news update feeds, and a few other things. Igoogle.com can greatly increase the efficiency of a teacher's job because it includes everything that the teacher may use on one webpage. It is highly customizable and the teacher can include or delete things with great ease. The inclusion part is very interesting, google has thousands of applications that one can include on their igoogle homepage. One only has to search on the "addstuff" page for just about anything that one could want.

Cozimo

I would use cozimo in the classroom, because I can communicate with students from all over the world. I would be able to teach a class or assist a fellow teacher in another country by using these websites. I can also use it in a class by manipulating a website picture on a smartboard or on a projector. I can use it to review my students' knowledge about certain topics and have them highlight or edit certain parts and review them. I can see clearly how this website could be useful for many different teachers of many different subject ares.

Google Earth

Google earth has to be one of the best tool on the internet for everyone, not only teachers. one can explore 3-D places and look around at famous and historical places that they might not ever be able to see otherwise. Tutankamen's tomb is one such example, few people have the chance to actually see into the tomb of the late King Tut, but with this technology it can be accessed by anyone on the internet.

teachers can use this to post podcasts and other teaching tools for other teachers and students to download and help the learning process. exactly like we do in W200.

A teacher would want to know about itunes because it is a good way to share information for all others to use and download legally. It can be shared with almost anyone on the internet and it is easy to learn to use.

Itunes can enhance the classroom experience by making the classroom anywhere where a computer is present or even whenever they turn on their ipod or mp3 player. The student can listen to lecture or anything that you post for them to download.

Quicktime is superior to other video players and it is ideal for teachers for several reasons. First the controls are easier and more efficient to handle. Quicktime can play any video and in better quality than other video players. Quicktime can help play short clips for your class.

Quicktime enhances the learning process by bringing sound and action into the classroom. Rather than listening to you lecture, or take down notes the entire class, the students can watch video of an epic battle re-enactment, or a documentary of a famous person.

Microsoft word is used by teachers because it is an effective way for their students to write papers effectively. It shows the student when they have a spelling mistake, or grammar mistake and does not automatically correct it, but makes the student realize he/she has made a mistake and learn from it.

Word is effective because it is incredibly versatile. The student can literally write any paper on Word and Word will simply do its job. Whether it be for math or science class, the program will run well.

For teacher's this is a valueable resource because it makes our job far easier. With powerpoint you can save lectures and their materials for years and modify them very easily. they allow for an instructor to post pictures, videos and any other amount of information onto an overhead projector.
Powerpoint is efficient for teachers to use because you can use pictures, videos, and let the students copy down notes all while you lecture, saving time to cycle between all of these things. Powerpoint allows for maximum information to be presented to the student and it is quite an easy format to learn to use.
Powerpoint is also effective because students can learn by actually seeing and observing the information in front of them rather than just hearing you speak about it.
